What?s Skazi doing at Lower Parel with a chicken puff?

This oddly pleasing combination we found at Sunburn 202, a new EDM (Electronic Dance Music) caf? where hectic beats meet simple eats. Owned by Percept and an offshoot of the Sunburn music festival, this neat blue and white eatery stands in a garage between Raghuvanshi and Phoenix Mills, in the space formerly used by Da Vinci Express.

It?s tiny, but packs in a whole lot: a live food counter, a pastry showcase, a rack of Sunburn T-shirts, shelves with other festival merchandise and music CDs, and out back, a make-shift picket fence area with two tables. Seeing as how humid the weather was yesterday afternoon, we decided to get all our stuff to go.

Stand the Tiesto of Time

The menu here is small and well-priced, featuring fries, baked goods, sandwiches, coffee and dessert. We got the fries, cheese croissant, grilled chicken panini, and a hot dog to replace the kheema chop that they didn?t have. We skipped dessert, a sorry-looking lot of lemon tarts and chocolate cake sitting behind the glass. While our order was being prepared, we browsed the shelves to find cool ?Feel Electric? water bottles, fun badges, mixed EDM CDs and branded t-shirts that we?re not sure anyone would want to wear.

Just as Tiesto came on, our order was ready, packed in neat boxes and cool Sunburn takeaway bags. We started with the fries in the car, which were hot and crisp, drizzled with mustard and mayo. The rest of our loot travelled well, we discovered, after getting to work.? Worth pointing out is the fact that their bread is super fresh and soft, like in the yum Panini that held between it grilled chicken, sweet and sour onions and bright, fresh red and yellow peppers. The croissant, featuring cheese made slightly tangy and spicy by jalapeno, makes for a fun evening snack. The hot dog would have been tastier had it featured less caramelised onion and more mustard.

With food costing as less as Rs 40 for a chicken puff without compromising on ingredients, Sunburn 202 is a fun option for office goers and shoppers in the neighbourhood to grab ?an evening snack.

And if you don?t like your Mushrooms Infected, then you?ll just have to get your panini elsewhere.
